What to Expect at Your First Dental Visit
On your first visit, Dr. Adkins will explain your diagnosis and options for treatment. Sometimes we can do the treatment on the same day of the visit, but usually, if you have a complex medical history or treatment plan, treatment will have to begin at a second appointment.
Please bring the following with you to your consultation:
- Your X-rays (if applicable)
- A list of the medications you are currently taking
- dental insurance information
Important: If the patient is under 18, a parent or guardian must accompany them to the consultation.
Please alert our office if you have a medical condition that can be of concern during surgery. Examples of such conditions:
- Diabetes
- High blood pressure
- Artificial heart valves
- Artificial joints
- Rheumatic fever
Please also tell us if you are on medications such as heart medications, aspirin, or anti-coagulant therapy. Please also let us know if you require certain medications, e.g. antibiotics for pre-med, before dental cleanings.
X-Rays
If you have had X-rays within the past six months, please have them sent to our office. You can pick them up and bring them yourself if there will not be enough time otherwise. We can take additional X-rays at our facility if necessary.
Forms
Please print and complete the new patient form and bring it to your first appointment.
